Youth Company

Dracula Spectacula!

At HCTC we seek to nurture and support the future talent of home-grown theatre and its performers. We are fortunate to have a thriving youth membership with young people involved in our pantomimes and full company musicals. Wanting to expand on this resource, and enabling young people the chance to shine, in the Autumn of 2019 HCTC embarked on its first ever youth only production, The Dracula Spectacular. It was hailed a great success with audiences and members alike. When forward planning for future shows we now seek to ensure that our proposals allow for a youth only production every 2-3 years.
Membership is open to young people aged 9 or over. This is aligned with performance regulations stipulated by Child Employment and Entertainment legislation.

A Night at the Musicals

There is a lower rate of membership subs for young people and unlike many other organisations that lower rate applies whilst a young person remains in education all the way up to Year 13.
It is a legal requirement that children and young people engaged in public performances or entertainment must be supervised by a chaperone approved by a Local Authority. Approved chaperones are essential to ensure that proper provision is made to secure a child’s health, safety and welfare whilst performing. All chaperones are required to undergo an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check and attend training by an approved LA body. If you are interested in becoming a licenced chaperone please email info@honitontheatre.co.uk for further information.

HCTC has robust Health and Safety procedures alongside our Child and Vulnerable Adult Protection Policy – these are made available to all members and revisited at the start of each new performance run.
