Dear members,
This is official notice of our next AGM which will be at The Beehive late afternoon (time TBC) on 26th April. At the AGM members of the committee are elected amongst other agenda items.
This year, positions on the committee include:
- Chairperson
- Vice chairperson
- Treasurer
- Secretary
- Youth officer
- Social secretary
- Junior members
- Other members
If you’d like to put yourself forward for a role, please reply to this email indicating that you would like to do so. For the first time this year we are also asking members to nominate fellow members in advance to stand for committee. We hope this may give some members more confidence to stand for election.
Our Pantomime committee meets once a month and organises performances and other activities. This includes publicity, choosing shows, scripts, directors, choreographers, musical directors and make decisions about the future of the society such as venues and new performances. For more information please ask a committee member.
We propose to introduce two new posts on committee; Youth officer to ensure that junior members and their parents can be communicated to effectively and Social Secretary to organise social events. Also, our Secretary Rosemary has indicated that she would like to step down in the near future so we will be looking for a replacement to be elected to the committee at either this AGM or in 2016. You do not need a high level of related skills to fulfil any of these roles but a knowledge and understanding is useful.
We propose to approve a new, slim lined version of our constitution which will remove much of the outdated reasoning and terminology. A draft of this will be sent to you before the AGM.
We asked members to fill out a form to gather feedback to help us improve the show next year. We will feedback the results of this and any actions we will take from this.
The AGM will be followed by a DVD Screening of ‘Sleeping Beauty’. We hope this will be a good chance for everyone to see the show which so many of us are either on or backstage for.
