“Extremely stylish and very, very classy!”
“Honiton have compilation productions off to a tee, being extremely stylish and very, very classy! A platform staged with three black chairs and one white, spot lit to take place of honour, set the stage for the immaculately dressed performers, their material chosen to give an evening of twenty three fabulous melodies from some of the West End and Broadways finest musicals such as ‘Matilda’, ‘Chess’, ‘The Book of Mormon’ and ‘Cabaret’ amongst the fourteen featured.
Various compares had obviously completed their homework to gold star standard, giving funny and concise information linking the show. Rehearsed to perfection, all performers sparkled with some outstanding pieces, notably ‘Seasons of Love’ from ‘Rent’ performed with clear part singing and spine-tingling solo pieces and the extremely difficult ‘Hello!’ from ‘The Book of Mormon’ which was sung with perfect timing. Special mention must also be given to the choreographer who staged and moved the dancers to create tight and very polished pictures without encroaching on the quality of singing.
The young chorus were a real bonus to the show; their performances from ‘Matilda’ and ‘The sound of Music’ gave an assurance that the future success of this society is sound! A supportive quartet of musicians was placed at the back of the stage allowing an excellent sound balance for most numbers, although younger soloists were overpowered at times.
This was a creative production which provided the perfect vehicle to showcase individual talent within the society, job definitely done, as the audience delighted in this ‘Music of the Night!’”

“Bursting with local, young talent”
“Well it seems that, yet again, Honiton has shown how to put on a good show, although just from looking at the programme I knew the audience we were in for a real treat. One of the things I love about HCTC is that it is bursting with local, young talent. One of the great thing about a compilations show is that there is a chance for everyone to shine, especially the younger ones that can be either too young or too small for roles in other shows. Abi Jennings, Kayley Docherty and Lauren Craig gave some incredibly strong, individual, performances and the choreography throughout, not only, fitted each song perfectly but was also stunning, so huge congratulations to Sarah. In a night of such quality, it can be hard to pick a highlight but “I Still Believe” was definitely one and was beautifully performed by Kirstie Dowel and Lauren Craig, both girls showed immense stage presence and both were completely in control of their voice and their performance. Congratulations on a super show, I could tell that the audience thoroughly enjoyed it, I know I certainly did. ”

Dear wonderful HCTC,
I am writing on behalf of the Sidbury Village Hall Committee to thank you for the brilliant show you gave us last Wednesday. As I mentioned on the evening, it was just amazing. The whole cast and crew were spot on. So well directed and thought through and all the performances so very professional and the musicians great.
I have heard from other sources that your other venues were as appreciative as we were. Well done and thank you for your support of our hall and for kindly helping with all the clearing up afterwards.
