Open Evening for ‘Peter Pan’ our 2016 Honiton Pantomime

We are excited to announce that the 2016 Honiton Pantomime will be ‘Peter Pan’ and we can’t wait until our launch day so that we can announce all of the fantastic opportunities for people of all ages and skills to be involved.

Following our hugely successful joint production of ‘The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe’ this summer and our sell-out family Pantomime ‘Sleeping Beauty’ in February, we are returning to The Beehive for a Christmas variety show in December aptly named the ‘Over the Sledge Variety Show’ and preparing for our annual pantomime which this year will be Peter Pan in February half term.

Last year’s Pantomime received rave reviews from audiences such as “I have been to the theatre many times but in all honesty your pantomime not only compared with but surpassed some of the professional ones I had seen.” And “Honestly, better than the last West End show I saw”. Many audience members came more than once to see the show.

We were also fortunate to be complimented with critical acclaim too from our district NODA rep Janet Elworthy who commented;

“All the ingredients were there, ensuring optimum audience entertainment, colour, slickness, quality of costume and those little directorial touches unique to the society that can and did work really well. Once again the society brought the local community together for an enjoyable evening of sparkling entertainment.”

The information afternoon will be held at The Beehive on Sunday 13th September at 1:30pm and will last roughly an hour and a half. It’s your chance to find out about all of the fabulous opportunities that our productions bring such as being on stage, backstage, set building, costume making, social events and much more! We welcome members of all ages and interests and Peter Pan features many parts for children and adults alike.

This year’s director Beth Hibbert commented;

“I’m really excited to get started on rehearsing for Peter Pan. Myself and Assistant Director Tracey Bonetta have been working hard over the summer plotting and planning for the show and we can’t wait to share our ideas with the cast and creative team on Sunday.”
